How this started

Cole Whitaker spent more than a decade working construction and hauling around Ellis County before buying a single truck and one container in 2015. The reason was straightforward: he'd spent years watching projects stumble on the same things - containers that turned up late or in the wrong size, prices that changed once the load crossed a scale, and haulers who didn't know where the county's debris was supposed to go now that the city's own facility takes almost nothing.

Eleven years on we run a fleet across Waxahachie and Ellis County, and the operating principle hasn't moved. Tell people the truth about what they need, protect the property, know exactly where the debris goes, and charge the number that was quoted.

What we actually do differently

We know where the debris goes. The city's Citizens Convenience Station caps construction waste at two cubic yards, three times a year, residents only, and won't take shingles - so construction and demolition debris has to go to a licensed regional landfill. We already know which regional facility takes which material, run a tarped truck as Texas law requires, and route each load efficiently. On volume, that's the whole job.

We recommend smaller containers. This one surprises people. Dense material - tile, shingles, the heavy Blackland clay - reaches a container's tonnage allowance while it still looks half empty. Recommending the 15 yard instead of the 20, or a dedicated 10 for the clay, costs us revenue and saves the customer money. We do it anyway.

We take what the city won't. The Convenience Station takes bulky household items and tiny amounts of construction waste from residents - not a renovation, not a roof tear-off, not the debris from anyone outside the city limits. We're the ones who take the rest, and we'll tell you which materials need a different route.

One number, tarped loads. The flat rate covers delivery, the rental period, collection, the regional disposal and a stated tonnage allowance, with the overage rate quoted in the same breath. And every load leaves tarped and secured, as Texas requires. No fuel surcharge, no environmental fee appearing on an invoice for the first time.

Why local knowledge matters here

Waxahachie is the seat of Ellis County, a fast-growing city on I-35E about thirty miles south of Dallas, so the work splits several ways. New construction and newer-home remodels across the growing subdivisions around Waxahachie, Midlothian and Red Oak produce bulky, light debris that wants a larger container. Renovation of the older homes around the gingerbread downtown and the courthouse square gives up dense plaster and layered flooring that wants a smaller one. Roof tear-offs, constant in this hail-prone stretch of North Texas, need their own box. And nearly every job that moves earth produces the heavy Blackland-clay spoil that needs its own container.

Then there's the disposal reality that shapes all of it: a city facility that takes almost nothing, debris routed to a regional landfill, and Texas's covered-load requirement on every haul. A company that works the system every day knows all of it. We quote each job on what it actually is, and we'll explain the difference if you want to hear it.

• Cole Whitaker — Founder & Owner. More than a decade in local construction and hauling before starting the company. Still takes sizing calls, particularly on anything involving concrete, Blackland clay, older-home demolition or a tricky acreage placement.
• Marisol Vega — Operations Manager. Runs the schedule, the swaps and the contractor accounts, and knows which Ellis County routes a loaded truck can and can't manage. If you need a same-day swap, she's the one who makes it happen.
• Dwight Hobbs — Lead Driver. Has been placing containers on Waxahachie driveways and rural acreage lots for years and sizes a load by eye better than most. If he says a 30 won't fit your lot, it won't.
• Brianne Salas — Customer Care Lead. First voice on the phone most mornings, and the person who will walk you through what can and can't go in the container and where the prohibited materials need to go.
